Within the Richmond Hill print collection, modern engraving and print techniques (including digital printing which is used to produce two of the designs) allow a delicacy of tone, texture and detail previously not possible. Tournier has been adapted from a mid 19th century French archive print and is typical of the highly detailed block prints from that time. The block print textures have been retained to soften the pattern and update it from earlier reproductions that used flat colour.
